What is the CPM® Designation?
The Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®) designation is a collaboration of the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers and Columbia University. The academic component is designed to provide a deeper understanding of fundamental security analysis, asset allocation, and portfolio management concepts for financial services industry professionals managing discretionary portfolios.
The curriculum encompasses eight core concepts:
- Quantitative Methods
- Financial Statement Analysis
- Corporate Finance
- Fixed Income Analysis
- Equity Analysis
- Fiduciary Responsibility
- Derivatives
- Portfolio Management

Qualifying for the CPM® designation
The current criteria for
applicant eligibility are any of the following:
1) A certificate,
diploma or academic degree providing evidence of a four-year undergraduate
degree
2) 3 years of
employment in the financial services industry.
3) Letter of
recommendation on behalf of the applicant who is employed in the financial
services industry, written by a supervisor, where the credential requirements
are desired for the training and development of the applicant.
CPM® Program tuition is $8,850.00
The program tuition includes the license to use our host site, Zoologic, and five days of onsite learning at Columbia University in New York. This also includes all meals and networking events at Columbia University.
Your tuition does not include any travel or hotel expenses for the onsite learning at Columbia. The CPM® onsite week at Columbia University is required to receive the CPM® designation.
CPM® Program timeline
It is anticipated that each candidate will spend 150 - 200 hours on the online pre-work hosted by Zoologic. After successfully completing the modules and passing the exams, candidates are eligible to attend the onsite learning at Columbia University. The five days at Columbia University will be the final part of the program.
