The Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®) designation is a collaboration of the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers and University of Denver. The academic component is designed to provide a deeper understanding of fundamental security analysis, asset allocation, and portfolio management concepts for financial services industry professionals managing discretionary portfolios.
The curriculum encompasses eight core concepts:
- Quantitative Methods
- Financial Statement Analysis
- Corporate Finance
- Fixed Income Analysis
- Equity Analysis
- Fiduciary Responsibility
- Derivatives
- Portfolio Management

Candidates will sharpen their command of these fundamental areas while demonstrating their commitment to continuing education and industry knowledge.
Qualifying for the CPM® designation
The current criteria for
applicant eligibility are any of the following:
1) A certificate,
diploma or academic degree providing evidence of a four-year undergraduate
degree
2) 3 years of
employment in the financial services industry.
3) Letter of
recommendation on behalf of the applicant who is employed in the financial
services industry, written by a supervisor, where the credential requirements
are desired for the training and development of the applicant.
CPM® Program tuition is $6,750.00
The program tuition includes the license to use our host site, SS&C, and 3 days of onsite learning at University of Denver. This also includes all meals and networking events at DU.
Your tuition does not include any travel or hotel expenses for the onsite learning at our University partner campus. The CPM® onsite week at the University partner campus is required to receive the CPM® designation.
CPM® Program timeline
It is anticipated that each candidate will spend 100-120 hours on the online pre-work hosted by our online learning partner SS&C. After successfully completing the modules and passing the exams, candidates are eligible to attend the onsite learning at the University partner campus.
